The ladies of Southbridge managed to find a good day in December for their annual Christmas tournament. THE PEPPERMINT TWIST. It was a team event with the A player hitting from the white tee, and the rest of the team from the red. To make it even harder on the A player, her score had to count each hole, both gross and net in a best two ball format. The team of Shirley Higby, Judi Buxbaum, Anne Holley and Janet Wist trounced the rest of the field by almost twenty strokes to take home the cash prize for 1st Gross. 1st Net was won by the team of Pam Whitehurst, Ursula Binder, Vicki Crim, and Charlene Nelson. Regina Graham, Jenny Hutton, Eleanor Shurr and Kathleen Rathbun won 2nd Net. Third net was the team of Nancy McCollum, Michele Mayer, Maggie Rousseau, and Jan Stevenson. Janet Fleming, Karen Nickles, Jeanette Cason, and Linda Sapp hung on for 4th Net. In all teams mentioned above, the first player was the A player. Kudos to them for bearing the pressure for the team.
Eleanor Shurr and Shirley Higby won closest to the pins in their respective divisions. Congrats ladies and have a wonderful Christmas. Many thanks to Judi Buxbaum for hosting the post Christmas party. A good time was had by all.
