The tree trimming is almost complete on the front 9 and there has been some trimming on the back 9, this will continue and it will help the course in many ways. The grass is starting to grow and we have many things that need attention. We are steadily working towards getting things accomplished. There have been some upgrades to the equipment inventory that will improve the overall condition of the golf course.

On Dec.5-6 Southbridge will host its first annual Match Play Championship. To qualify one must finish in the top 16 in points for his respective division(Mens or Seniors). There are 5 events throughout the year(Member Masters, Member-Guest, Member-Member, Club Championship, Blitz Championship) which have points to be earned. The "Top 16" as of the Member-Member are:

Section II Definitions: Casual Water

"Casual Water" is any temporary accumulation of water on the course that is not in a water hazard and is visible before or after the player takes his stance. Snow and natural ice, other than frost, are either casual water or loose impediments, at the option of the player. Manufactured ice is an obstruction. Dew and Frost are not casual water.

A ball is in casual water when it lies in or any part of it touches the casual water.
